R3 helped us upgrade an outdated server infrastructure and migrate it fully into the cloud. We partnered to identify our preferences and their recommendations which allowed us to build a cost effective and efficient project plan. The R3 team then partnered with our onsite IT group and helped us migrate our systems with minimal impact to our end users.

The decision to migrate from an outdated legacy system was prompted by the hazardous nature of operating on antiquated software and hardware. The cybersecurity risks associated with unsupported servers from 2008 were paramount, leaving Monumental Markets vulnerable to potential breaches and data compromises. The lack of ongoing support and updates compounded the problem, as the servers were no longer equipped to defend against evolving cyber threats. The absence of available security patches and vendor support not only exposed the organization to external threats but
also hindered compliance with industry standards and regulations. With performance issues and the inability to implement crucial security controls, the decision to modernize became imperative for the sustainability and security of the business
R3SOLUTION
A Strategic Migration to Microsoft Azure
The migration process was a meticulous orchestration, beginning with a collaboration with Right Networks to seamlessly transition Monumental Markets financial system from Sage running on premises to a hosted service.
The journey continued by developing a comprehensive data map in consultation with the client, allowing for the prioritization of critical workloads. The three-pronged migration approach involved moving application servers first, followed by the implementation of SharePoint for file sharing, and the adoption of InTune for workstations. A crucial aspect was the collaboration with a consultant to seamlessly transfer custom inventory reporting to a virtual SQL database on a cloud server. The establishment of permissions, sharing rules, and VPN access contributed to a smooth transition, ensuring business continuity while unlocking greater flexibility for remote work.
Issues that arose were identified and resolved quickly. All of this was accomplished through frequent and honest review of progress and to identify risks and constraints.
